This was a traditional kit, all flat balsa, a true builders
kit.
I just fancied something scale and something to build. I
was inspired by a fellow club mate Andy Stretton who had one
and flew it around beautifully.
The standard kit comes with fixed undercarriage, but I converted
it to retractable undercarriage, which makes it a big difference
to have the wheels up in the air.
Most people have all yellow Harvards, but I wanted to have
something a little more colourful, so I choose to have the
pre WWII US Army observation core colour scheme.
The plane was
powered by an
OS52FS which
I bought second
hand for £115
off the classified
ads section
of the BMFA
I have now
sold the the
oily engine
and have replaced
it with a nice
clean and quiet
Purple
Power Brushless
electric motor.
A
9 minute flight
of gentle aerobatics
and slow cruzing,
low 'n' slow
passes takes
around 2,400mAh
from the 3,700mAh
packs.
